The Frederick Douglass Papers publishes the works of Frederick Douglass in volumes divided by Autobiographies, Speeches, Editorials, and other writings from his career. The project also publishes critical works exploring the works of Douglass and an annual academic journal, The New North Star.

Researchers from all around the world come to pore over the collection of numerous letters written to and from Frederick Douglass and records of his newspapers: The North Star, Frederick Douglass’ Paper, and the New National Era for use in their personal research projects or in collaboration with Dr. John Kaufman-McKivigan and the Frederick Douglass Papers researchers. Additionally, the project has begun digitizing the works of Frederick Douglass to expand their accessibility to all.
